Tables are detected and exported
A server job extracts tables (Tabula, with Camelot as fallback) into an XLSX. That is different from LibreOffice Office converters or browser-only image tools.
Download and verify cells
Open pdflaunch-pdf-to-excel.xlsx, check a few totals and headers, then filter or chart. Temp files are removed when the job finishes.
PDFs people mine for spreadsheet data
After cleanup: chart in Excel, or freeze a shareable snapshot with Excel to PDF. Pure image pages with no table structure may still need a better scan or manual mapping.

What spreadsheet format do I get?
A .xlsx workbook (for example pdflaunch-pdf-to-excel.xlsx), not legacy .xls.
How large can the PDF be for Excel conversion?
Up to 25 MB in the uploader. Very wide or multi-table PDFs take longer to extract.
Will every number land in the correct cell?
Clear bordered tables work best. Merged cells, footnotes, and fancy layouts may need a quick cleanup in Excel.
What if my PDF is only scanned images?
The converter can OCR first when little text is detected, then extract tables. Blurry scans still reduce accuracy.
Is PDF to Excel the same as Excel to PDF?
No. This tool unlocks table data into XLSX. Excel to PDF freezes a workbook into PDF pages.
Should I use PDF to Word for tables instead?
Use PDF to Word for narrative documents. Use PDF to Excel when you need cells you can calculate on.
Does PDF to Excel run only in my browser?
No. Table extraction (and optional OCR) runs on the server.
Do you keep my PDF after creating the XLSX?
Temporary processing files are removed when the job completes. We do not store a lasting copy.
Can I convert several PDFs into one workbook?
One PDF per run. Convert each file, then combine sheets in Excel, or merge PDFs first if they belong together.
